Clinging Skybloom
Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)This big tree grows up to 66 meters (216.5 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 138 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.
It has a knobbly, curved trunk covered in silky, pine-coloured bark, and inside, the very hard wood is white with black speckles.
The branches are short and thin and are covered with large amounts of waxy, large, fan-like leaves with tattered edges. The leaves themselves are generally sky blue.
In early spring, it produces a thick sheet of tiny, gentle red blossoms with pleated petals with a tube-like floral cup. They are very delicate and have a scent whose strength depends on external factors, such as soil quality and rain frequency that smells like mango.
In late summer it forms tiny, bronze, spiky-shelled seeds.
The roots are shallow and widely spread, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.
Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with patches of undergrowth between them.
It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
