Twining Turquoise Vine

This small flower grows up to 2 inches (5 cm) tall. Its gray-green stems grow from the base of the plant in bunches of 7 and are thick and straight, and split into dozens of branching stems halfway up, and the tiny, green leaves are wide with smooth edges. Many leaves grow along the entire length of the stem.

Dozens of medium-sized flowers grow in a bunch at the end of the stem. The flowers are 4 cm (1.6 inches) wide, with each petal a slightly different shade of turquoise. The flower head is made up of 7 petals in raised layers. They fall easily.

It has a soft scent that smells like onion, and it has very little pollen, but can cause allergic reactions. It is pollinated by a small species of bird, but is also visited by some specific types of insect.
