Orange Moss

This orange moss is commonly found growing in tiny clumps On trees, and On rotten logs.
It is modest-sized, growing up to 4 inches (10 cm) tall. It forms in thick clumps and they overwhelm an area rapidly, and is extremely delicate; it burns easily in strong sunlight.
When mature, emerald crescent-shaped capsules grow at the end of elongated, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early winter to release thousands of spores.
