Burgundy Spiralfern

This burgundy moss is commonly found growing in small clumps In damp forests, and In heathlands.
It is huge, growing up to 1.3 feet (38 cm) tall. It forms in small clumps and they are slow to spread and grow, and is very light.
When mature, emerald spiral capsules grow at the end of elongated, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the late summer to release thousands of spores; it can cause allergic reactions.
