Copperleaf Creeper

Climbing plant type: Creeper (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This average-sized creeper is a steady-growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 30 feet (9.1 meters) and growing as high as 107 feet (32.6 meters). It prefers to grow on man-made objects.

It takes 15 months for the yellow-green and copper stems to mature, by which point they sometimes have a diameter of 2 inches (5 cm) and are smooth and slick.

The fan-like, clammy leaves reach up to 1.5 feet (46 cm) in length. They are generally bright orange, and have smooth edges.

During late spring, the creeper produces balls of average olive flowers, and during the early summer, after flowering, it produces a handful of small fruits.

It spreads easily and often blanket large areas.

It can survive a very long time without water.
