Copper

This average-sized fruit tree grows up to 11 feet (3.4 meters) tall and lives for up to 20 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 28 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has a thick, slanted trunk covered in silky, dark gray bark, and inside, the light wood is gray.

The branches trail down to the ground and are covered with copious amounts of tiny, wispy leaves with serrated edges. The leaves themselves are copper and white.

In early spring, it produces many small, cream blossoms with crescent-shaped petals. They are very delicate and have a scent that varies in strength that smells like onion.

In early autumn it produces small, pleated fruit. The waxy black skin is peel-able and inedible, and the slightly crunchy peach flesh is sweet and syrupy. The brown seeds are small and are dotted around on the skin of the fruit.

The roots are long and grow straight down, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.
