Copperleaf

Shrub type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This modest-sized shrub grows up to 2 feet (61.0 cm) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 100 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has dozens of narrow, crooked stems covered in wrinkled, copper-coloured bark, and the wood inside is dark brown.

The branches trail down to the ground that and are covered with large amounts of giant, wide, leaves with wavy edges. The leaves themselves are green at the bottom and vibrant red with indigo zig-zags at the top, tough and soft.

In late spring it produces large amounts of medium-sized, violet flowers with 7 pointed petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They are hardy and have a weak scent that smells like rotting meat.


It is suitable for making baskets and the like
Their seeds have hallucinogenic properties.
