Copperbell

This short shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 192 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has many long and flexible, straight stems covered in very thick, silky, copper-coloured bark, and the wood inside is black.

The branches are short, rigid and upright that and are covered with handfuls of huge, long, narrow, leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are copper at the bottom and grey with amber edges at the top, resistant and soft.

In late spring it produces handfuls of tiny, slate flowers with 8 pointed petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They fall easily and have a weak scent that smells like apple.
