Caramel

Shrub type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This big shrub grows up to 7 feet (2.1 meters) tall and lives for around 67 years. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has many branched, wonky stems covered in ridged, gray bark, and the wood inside is yellow.

The branches are short stubs with thousands of twigs that and are covered with sparse amounts of tiny, circular, leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are generally dark yellow, flimsy and sticky.

In early spring it produces many giant, caramel blossoms with triangular shaped petals. They are sturdy and have a strong scent that smells like pot-purri.

In late autumn pleated fruits ripen. The smooth brown skin is delicate and sweet, and the soft hazel flesh is bitter and very dry. The hazel seeds are large and are scattered throughout the fruit.

It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
It out-competes most other plants for nutrients and light.
