Red Puff Grass

Grass type: Annual (Stores water in its stem)

This enormous, yellow-green grass grows up to 14 feet (4.3 meters) tall. The slender, pointed stalks grow in small clumps that are resilient and they spread and grow quickly.

When mature, the end of the stem eventually transforms into a giant, intense red puff.

During the mid-autumn, it produces very little pollen; it can cause severe allergic reactions, and after flowering, it is left with excessive amounts of giant grains.

It can absorb up to 14 times its own weight in water.
It aggressively steals nutrients from other large plants (but not each other).
It is suitable for creating flexible, durable textiles
It is very rare outside of a particular area.
