Caramel

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This small fruit tree grows up to 7 feet (2.1 meters) tall and lives for up to 30 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 44 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a long and flexible, crooked trunk covered in paper-thin, rough, gray bark, and inside, the soft wood is burgundy-brown.

The excessive amount of branches are long and thin and are covered with small bunches of large, wispy leaves with jagged edges. The leaves themselves are solid green with caramel splotches.

In early spring, it produces a handful of giant, caramel blossoms with pleated petals with a tube-like floral cup. They are very delicate and have a faint scent that smells like baby powder.

In early autumn it produces , fan-like fruit. The fuzzy yellow skin is tough and inedible, and the slightly crunchy yellow flesh is savoury and very dry. The light grey seeds are small and are located in the centre of the fruit.

The roots form a tightly packed ball, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
