Cyan Cupflower

This enormous flower grows up to 12.5 feet (3.8 meters) tall. Its moss green stem is thin and straight with a curved tip, and the huge, burgundy leaves are fan-like with jagged edges. 15 leaves grow at the base of the stem.

A single large flower sits at the end of each stem. The flowers are 65 cm (25.6 inches) wide, with solid cyan petals decorated with green lines and a pink central disk. The flower head is shaped like a cup made up of handfuls of widely spaced, round-tipped petals. They are hardy.

It has a faint scent that smells like sugar, and it has an average amount of pollen. It is pollinated by a small species of bird, but is enjoyed by several specific types of insect.
