Copperleaf

This small leaf succulent grows up to 2 feet (61.0 cm) tall. The perforated stem is copper or grey, and is covered in brittle hazel spines. The wavy-edged, perforated leaves are solid bright green or azure, with peach zig-zags. Small amounts of them grow from the base in tight-packed layers. The leaves are durable, but take little effort to detach.

It is steady-growing, taking 2 years to reach maturity. Once mature, a single flower with petals that are generally orange; each flower tends to be a variation of this colour grows at the top, reappearing once every 4 years. The flower head is largely flat with several tightly layered round-tipped petals. It has a delicate scent that smells like rotten meat.

The leaf succulent's skin is tough, the white flesh is smooth, and the bronze sap is thin.
