Brown Moss

This brown moss is commonly found growing in giant clumps On rotten logs.
It is small, growing up to 1 inch (3 cm) tall. It forms in thin clumps, and is overwhelmingly flimsy.
When mature, emerald circular capsules grow at the end of elongated, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the late summer to release thousands of spores; it does not cause many allergic reactions.
