Blue Glowfern

Succulent type: Caudiciform (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This large caudiciform grows up to 86 feet (26.2 meters) tall. The needle-like stem is grey, and is covered in thick sheets of flexible grey spines. It has a twisting, slender, orange trunk atop a slender block of knobbly, exposed roots. The branches are thin and blue and are short stubs.

The smooth-edged, fan-like leaves are emerald with azure tips. They are flimsy, and are very difficult to pull away.

It is very fast growing, taking 7 months to reach maturity. Once mature, a handful of flowers, with cream petals on the lower layer and lilac petals decorated with green dots on the inner layer. The central disk is yellow, grow at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is largely flat with 36 raised narrow petals. It has a soft scent that smells like onion.

The caudiciform's skin is thick, the turquoise flesh is slimy, and the blue sap is thin.
