This lime green moss is commonly found growing in tiny clumps In rainforests, On trees, and In damp forests.
It is big, growing up to 7 inches (18 cm) tall. It forms in thin clumps, and is overwhelmingly light; it struggles more than most during dry spells.
When mature, emerald spiral capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early winter to release thousands of spores; it can cause severe allergic reactions.

It grows well in the sun and full shade.
The petals are excellent for making pulp fibers
It spreads easily and often blanket large areas.
It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
