Crimson Vine

This huge vine is a very slow growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 568 feet (173.1 meters) and growing as high as 428 feet (130.5 meters).

It takes 21 years for the green stems to mature, by which point they sometimes have a diameter of 2.6 feet (79 cm) and are soft and flexible.

The long, narrow, waxy leaves reach up to 2.8 feet (86 cm) in length. They are crimson and red, and have smooth edges.

During late spring, the vine produces handfuls of average pink flowers.
