Magenta
Fruit Tree type: Coniferous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)This massive fruit tree grows up to 61 feet (18.6 meters) tall and lives for up to 20 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 43 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.
It has a thick, angular trunk covered in thin, cracked, yellow bark, and inside, the very light wood is burgundy-brown.
The abundance of branches are short stubs and are covered with large amounts of miniature, circular leaves with wavy edges. The leaves themselves are magenta and yellow.
In early spring, it produces many balls of large, gold blossoms with needle-like petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They are hardy and have a mildly strong scent that smells like rich perfume.
In early winter it produces tiny, triangular fruit. The fuzzy bronze skin is delicate and inedible, and the soft olive flesh is bitter and savoury and powdery. The black seeds are small and are located in the centre of the fruit.
The roots are shallow and widely spread, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.
Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
It can flourish even in standing water.
It is suitable for creating strong, durable textiles
