Yellow Spine Cactus

This short cactus grows up to 11 feet (3.4 meters) tall. It splits at the base to form 2 pleated stems. Each stem is yellow, and is covered in thousands of fine, caramel, hair-like spines.

It is very fast growing, taking 8 months to reach maturity. Once mature, a single flower with solid blood red petals and a light grey central disk grows at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is made up of many petals in raised layers. It has a delicate scent that smells like old shoes.

The cactus's skin is thick, the brown flesh is rough, and the brown sap is thin.
