Bronzeberry

This small shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 154 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has several long and flexible, straight stems covered in hard, ridged, white with black speckled bark, and the wood inside is pale brown-grey.

The branches are long and thin with dozens of twigs that and are covered with small bunches of miniature, thin, leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are found in brown, caramel and bronze varieties, flimsy and soft.

In mid-summer it produces several small, sky blue blossoms with shield-shaped shaped petals. They are sturdy and have a faint scent that smells like damp.

In mid-autumn tiny 4 pointed fruits ripen. The fuzzy light brown skin is thick and inedible, and the soft brown flesh is sweet and sour and oily. The white seed is very large and sits at the top of the fruit.
