Climbing Ropeweed

This large bine is a steady-growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 275 feet (83.8 meters) and growing as high as 44 feet (13.4 meters).

It takes 20 months for the moss green stems to mature, by which point they have often fused together into ropes with a diameter of 7 inches (18 cm) and are rough and fibrous.

The needle-like, rough leaves reach up to 2.6 feet (79 cm) in length. They are either dark grey or black, with drab red streaks, and have smooth edges.

During late spring, the bine produces lots of average green flowers.
