Coppervine

This modest-sized bine is a steady-growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 39 feet (11.9 meters) and growing as high as 136 feet (41.5 meters).

It takes 4 years for the gray-green stems to mature, by which point they have tangled themselves into thick mats with a diameter of 3 inches (8 cm) and are rough and prickly.

The wispy, fuzzy leaves reach up to 11 inches (28 cm) in length. They are a shade of yellow-green that gradient shifts to copper at the top, and have tattered edges.

During late spring, the bine produces handfuls of large black flowers.
