Clinging Copperbrush

Shrub type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This short shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for around 11 years. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has numerous very thick, straight stems covered in very thick, silky, copper-coloured bark, and the wood inside is black.

The branches trail down to the ground with dozens of twigs that and are covered with thick bunches of huge, long, narrow, leaves with irregular edges. The leaves themselves are a shade of lime that gradient shifts to beige at the top, delicate and leathery.

It produces large amounts of tiny, bronze flowers with slender, pointed petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They detach easily and have a scent that varies in strength that smells like fish. In early summer it forms largewashed-out orange seed pods.

It is suitable for making strong rope
It can absorb up to 16 times its own weight in water.
It can grow in even the most barren lands.
