Violet Trumpet

This small flower grows up to 2 inches (5 cm) tall. Its emerald stem is very thick, and the huge, light grey leaves are long, narrow with wavy edges. Many leaves grow along the entire length of the stem.

Lots of tiny flowers grow in a bunch at the end of the stem. The flowers are 11 cm (4.3 inches) wide, with petals that are yellow on the underside and violet on the top. The flower head is shaped like a trumpet made up of 9 tightly layered, round-tipped petals. They are very delicate.

It has an intense scent that smells like rainy days, and it has copious amounts of pollen; it can cause severe allergic reactions. It is pollinated by a small species of bird.
