Copper

This modest-sized caudiciform grows up to 67 feet (20.4 meters) tall. The stiff, pointed stem is slate and white, and is dotted with small light brown spines. It has a crooked, round, brown trunk atop a bulbous clump of rough, exposed roots. The branches are thick and blood red and are very long, thin and wispy.

The serrated-edged, broad, flat leaves are generally lilac. They are flimsy, but take little effort to detach.

It is fast growing, taking 11 months to reach maturity. Once mature, a single flower with alternating petals of hazel and bronze, with an indigo central disk grows at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is shaped like a cup with 14 raised, round-tipped petals. It has a faint scent that smells like grass cuttings.

The caudiciform's skin is nearly impenetrable, the copper flesh is smooth, and the violet sap is thin and causes vomiting if consumed.
