Blackberry

Shrub type: Deciduous (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This huge shrub grows up to 15 feet (4.6 meters) tall and lives for around 73 years. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has many narrow, wonky stems covered in silky, black bark, and the wood inside is yellow.

The branches trail down across the ground with hundreds of twigs that and are covered with small amounts of miniature, wide, leaves with jagged edges. The leaves themselves are found in beige and vibrant green varieties, sturdy and smooth.

It produces handfuls of medium-sized, caramel flowers with stiff, pointed petals. They are hardy and have a delicate scent that smells like a damp log. In early autumn it forms largehazel berries.

It can survive a very long time without water.
It only grows on the most fertile lands.
It is suitable for use as a construction material
