Stargold Lily

This big flower grows up to 4.6 feet (1.4 meters) tall. Its gray stem is thin and straight with a curved tip, and the miniature, gray leaves are wispy with smooth edges. Many leaves grow along the entire length of the stem.

2 to 7 giant flowers grow on alternate sides up the length of the stem. The flowers are 29 cm (11.4 inches) wide, with alternating petals of gold and vibrant green, with a lilac central disk. The flower head is shaped like a star made up of 17 tightly layered, narrow petals. They are very delicate.

It has a scent that varies in strength that smells like coconut, and it has copious amounts of pollen; it can cause severe allergic reactions. It is pollinated by the wind.
