Bloodvine

Shrub type: Deciduous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This massive shrub grows up to 11 feet (3.4 meters) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 174 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has many sturdy, wavy stems covered in very thick, smooth, burgundy and brown bark, and the wood inside is white.

The branches trail down to the ground that and are covered with sparse amounts of large, broad, flat, leaves with toothed edges. The leaves themselves are solid vivid purple with blood red dots, frail and fuzzy.

It produces many giant, magenta flowers with fan-like petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They fall easily and have a weak scent that smells like leather. In midwinter it forms giantvivid yellow, winged seeds that spin and fall nearby.

It is suitable for making strong rope
It usually houses a colony of beneficial insects.
The leaves are high in natural sugars.
