Aquamarine Vine

This small flower grows up to 2 inches (5 cm) tall. Its pink-red stem is very thin, and the giant, green leaves are finger-like with jagged edges. The leaves alternate on the stem from about halfway up, up to the flower head.

5 to 7 medium-sized flowers grow on alternate sides up the length of the stem. The flowers are 6 cm (2.4 inches) wide, with solid aquamarine petals decorated with white lines and a violet central disk. The flower head is made up of handfuls of petals in raised layers. They fall easily.

It has a strong scent that smells like pineapple, and it has a fair amount of pollen; it can cause allergic reactions. It is pollinated by insects and is particularly attractive to bees.
