Clinging Redvine

This average-sized vine is a steady-growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 34 feet (10.4 meters) and growing as high as 856 feet (260.9 meters). It prefers to grow on specific trees.

It takes 19 months for the pink-red stems to mature, by which point they can have a diameter of 5 inches (13 cm) and are rough and fibrous.

The oblong, smooth leaves reach up to 1.3 feet (38 cm) in length. They are silver and slate, and have smooth edges.

During late spring, the vine produces thousands of large black flowers.
