Crimson Vine

This average-sized bine is a steady-growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 47 feet (14.3 meters) and growing as high as 429 feet (130.8 meters).

It takes 3 years for the gray-green stems to mature, by which point they have often fused together into ropes with a diameter of 3 inches (8 cm) and are tough and woody.

The wispy, crispy leaves reach up to 1.7 feet (51 cm) in length. They are beige and crimson, and have smooth edges.

During late spring, the bine produces a handful of small pastel red flowers.
