Copperfruit Tree

This small fruit tree grows up to 9 feet (2.7 meters) tall and lives for up to 15 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 18 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a sturdy, straight trunk covered in hard, knobbly, copper-coloured bark, and inside, the hard wood is black.

The tangled mess of branches trail down across the ground and are covered with very large amounts of tiny, shield-shaped leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are either green, or intense purple with white streaks.

In early spring, it produces dozens of large, amber blossoms with 6 spiral shaped petals. They are sturdy and have a strong scent that smells like a man.

In mid-summer it produces small, circular fruit. The smooth white skin is thin and inedible, and the soft intense purple flesh is overwhelmingly sour and dry. The red seeds are large and are bunched at the top of the fruit.

The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with grassy ground between them.
