Caramelucculent

Succulent type: Leaf succulent (Stores water in its leaves)

This short leaf succulent grows up to 12 feet (3.7 meters) tall. The slender, pointed stem is faded green or red, and is covered in lots of flexible caramel spines. The bubbly leaves are dark grey on the sides and yellow at the center. Small bunches of them grow on thick, gnarled, orange branches that trail down towards the ground. The leaves are light, but take little effort to detach.

It is very slow growing, taking 19 years to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, several flowers with solid white petals and a vivid blue central disk grow at the top, reappearing after 3 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of 55 curved petals. It has a strong scent that smells like freshly washed clothes.

The leaf succulent's skin is thick, the caramel flesh is smooth, and the pale yellow sap is thin.

It is suitable for making baskets and the like
It usually houses a colony of beneficial insects.
