Orange Glow Tree

Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in its leaves)

This short tree grows up to 5 meters (16.4 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 482 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a knobbly, wonky trunk covered in wrinkled, dark green bark, and inside, the hard wood is pale brown.

The numerous branches trail down to the ground and are covered with copious amounts of crispy, tiny, 7 pointed leaves with jagged edges. The leaves themselves are white and beige.

In early spring, it produces thousands of medium-sized, orange blossoms with broad, flat petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They are hardy and have an overpowering scent that smells like rainy days.

In late summer it forms small, black aril (seeds with fleshy covers).

The roots are shallow and widely spread, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.
