Copperleaf

Shrub type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This average-sized shrub grows up to 4 feet (1.2 meters) tall and lives for around 17 years. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has numerous branched, straight stems covered in thin, rough, mahogany-coloured bark, and the wood inside is copper-coloured.

The branches are tall, rigid and upright with thousands of twigs that and are covered with very large amounts of huge, wide, leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are either beige, or sky blue with orange zig-zags, hardy and clammy.

In early summer it produces handfuls of small, red flowers with pleated petals. They are very delicate and have a weak scent that smells like mint.
