Bluefruit Tree

This average-sized fruit tree grows up to 14 feet (4.3 meters) tall and lives for up to 25 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 40 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has a long and flexible, curved trunk covered in rough, brown-green speckled bark, and inside, the flexible wood is dark brown.

The branches are very short and slender and are covered with large amounts of large, thick leaves with rounded edges. The leaves themselves are found in grey, azure and light grey varieties.

In early spring, it produces balls of tiny, blue blossoms with triangular petals with a tube-like floral cup. They are sturdy and have a strong scent that smells like candle wax.

In early winter it produces tiny, triangular fruit. The smooth dull orange skin is tough and inedible, and the crunchy gentle purple flesh is sweet and dry. The slate seed is small and sits at the end of the fruit.

The roots are shallow and widely spread, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with grassy ground between them.
