Grass type: Biennial (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)This small, brown grass grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall. The sickle shaped stalks grow in small clumps that are flexible and they are exceptionally hardy.
When mature, the end of the stem eventually transforms into a medium-sized, cream flower.
During the late autumn, it produces very little pollen; it can cause allergic reactions, and after flowering, it is left with a few tiny grains.
It is suitable for creating strong, durable textiles
