Aurora Blush

This small shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 173 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has several thick, curved stems covered in paper-thin, knobbly, gray bark, and the wood inside is yellow-brown.

The branches trail down across the ground that and are covered with sparse amounts of large, very thin, leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are a shade of orange-yellow that gradient shifts to azure at the top, delicate and fuzzy.

In late spring it produces hundreds of large, lime blossoms with stiff, pointed petals. They fall easily and have a soft scent that smells like an ocean breeze.

In early winter long, narrow fruits ripen. The sticky white skin is stretchy and edible when cooked; it is sweet and spicy, and the very soft blood red flesh is sweet and dry. The blood red seeds are small and are scattered throughout the fruit.
