Copper Succulent

This short cactus grows up to 10 feet (3.0 meters) tall. The slender, pointed stem is orange-yellow, and is covered in large amounts of rigid beige spines. The wedge-shaped body is copper, and is covered in brittle green spines.

It is very fast growing, taking 5 months to reach maturity. Once mature, a handful of flowers, with petals that are generally faded purple; each flower tends to be a variation of this colour, grow at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is shaped like a heart with 42 tightly layered, round-tipped petals. It has a powerful scent that smells like warm cookies.

The cactus's skin is nearly impenetrable, the black flesh is rubbery, and the brown sap is thin.
