Burgundy Glowvine

Shrub type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This short shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 116 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has many slender, wavy stems covered in fine, ridged, dark brown bark, and the wood inside is burgundy.

The branches trail down towards the ground with hundreds of twigs that and are covered with small bunches of small, asymmetrical, leaves with jagged edges. The leaves themselves are either light grey or beige, with grey dots, light and waxy.

In mid-summer it produces several tiny, green blossoms with 8 crescent-shaped shaped petals. They are very delicate and have a weak scent that smells like paint.

In mid-autumn small 6 pointed fruits ripen. The fuzzy cream skin is stretchy and spicy and sour, and the soft crimson flesh is bitter and savoury and very juicy. The black seeds are large and are scattered throughout the fruit.

It only grows on the most fertile lands.
Their seeds have hallucinogenic properties.
