Indigo Succulent

Succulent type: Leaf succulent (Stores water in its leaves)

This small leaf succulent grows up to 4 feet (1.2 meters) tall. The very narrow, elongated stem is green, and is dotted with small bronze spines. The smooth-edged, very thick leaves are either indigo, or florescent red with gold zig-zags. Large amounts of them grow from the base like rose petals. The leaves are flimsy, and do not detach easily.

It is very slow growing, taking 24 years to reach maturity. Once mature, several flowers with solid aquamarine petals decorated with white dots and a turquoise central disk grow at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is shaped like a dish made up of 14 tightly layered, round-tipped petals. It has a powerful scent that smells like blood.

The leaf succulent's skin is delicate, the bronze flesh is waxy, and the deep green sap is thin.

All of it is said to be part of one single, massive plant.

It spreads easily and often blanket large areas.
