Copperbell

Succulent type: Caudiciform (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This average-sized caudiciform grows up to 3 feet (91.4 cm) tall. The wide stem is copper, and is covered in lots of flexible brown spines. The straight, crimson trunk can grow to as much as 3 feet (91.4 cm) in diameter at the bottom. Its olive or olive branches are short stubs and start growing at the top the stem.

The sparse amounts of wavy-edged, very narrow and elongated leaves are solid lilac or turquoise, with indigo dots. They are strong, and do not detach easily.

It is steady-growing, taking 22 months to reach maturity. Once mature, several flowers with gold petals and a yellow center grow at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is made up of many petals in raised layers. It has a strong scent that smells like mint.

The caudiciform's skin is thin, the gold flesh is rough, and the magenta sap is thin.

It commonly grows in large patches.
