Copper Fruit Tree

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This small fruit tree grows up to 6 feet (1.8 meters) tall and lives for up to 10 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 20 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a narrow, wavy trunk covered in fine, cracked, pine-coloured bark, and inside, the light wood is copper-coloured.

The sparse amount of branches trail down towards the ground and are covered with very large amounts of small, needle-like leaves with tattered edges. The leaves themselves are either light grey, or light brown with orange edges.

In early spring, it produces lots of small, amber blossoms with oval-shaped shaped petals. They are very delicate and have a strong scent that smells like leather.

In early winter it produces small, wide fruit. The smooth white skin is thin and inedible, and the slightly crunchy light brown flesh is sour and savoury and syrupy. The bronze seed is large and is in the centre of the fruit.

The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with grassy ground between them.

It is difficult to kill and will quickly regrow if cut.
