Aquamarine Fruit Tree

This small fruit tree grows up to 7 feet (2.1 meters) tall and lives for up to 20 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 28 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a sturdy, straight trunk covered in hard, silky, black bark, and inside, the very dense wood is dark brown.

The numerous branches are long and thick and are covered with small bunches of giant, thin leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are generally green.

In early spring, it produces several giant, aquamarine blossoms with kidney-shaped shaped petals. They detach easily and have a faint scent that smells like fresh linen.

In early summer it produces small, wide fruit. The rubbery light brown skin is peel-able and inedible, and the very soft aquamarine flesh is salty and dry. The faded yellow seed is small and is in the centre of the fruit.

The roots are long and grow straight down, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with patches of undergrowth between them.
