Burgundy Moss

Moss type: Moss

This burgundy moss is commonly found growing in giant clumps In heathlands, In damp forests, and In moorlands.
It is large, growing up to 8 inches (20 cm) tall. It forms in extensive patches, and is overwhelmingly durable.
When mature, emerald cylindrical capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the mid-autumn to release hundred of spores; it does not cause any allergic reactions.


It is said to be able to live for hundreds of years.
It spreads easily and often blanket large areas.
It is suitable for making strong rope
The sap causes severe rashes
