Copperflower

This modest-sized flower grows up to 1.3 feet (41 cm) tall. Its gray-green stems grow from the base of the plant in bunches of 8 and are thick and straight, and split into several branching stems halfway up, and the huge, orange leaves are wide with toothed edges. Many leaves grow at the base of the stem, and more leaves grow in pairs along the length of the stem.

Two tiny flowers sit at the end of each stem. The flowers are 30 cm (11.8 inches) wide, with alternating petals of blue and copper, with a brilliant yellow central disk. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of up to 20 petals. They are very delicate.

It has an overpowering scent that smells like blood, and it has very little pollen; it can cause allergic reactions. It is pollinated by insects , but is also visited by a small species of bird.
