Aquaflora

Flower type: Biennial (Stores water in its leaves)

This short flower grows up to 4 inches (10 cm) tall. Its green stem is very thin and splits into dozens of branching stems halfway up, and the small, green leaves are dark red on the underside and are fan-like with toothed edges. Many leaves grow at the base of the stem, and more leaves alternate on the stem from about halfway up, up to the flower head.

Dozens of medium-sized flowers grow along the length of the stem. The flowers are 15 cm (5.9 inches) wide, with blue petals on the lower layer and indigo petals decorated with aquamarine dots on the inner layer. The central disk is light brown. The flower head is made up of several petals; the lower layer of petals are flat, while the upper layers form a tight cube. They fall easily.

It has a scent that varies in strength that smells like skunk spray, and it has very little pollen; it does not cause many allergic reactions. It is pollinated by the wind, but is also visited by some specific types of insect.


It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
It grows well in the sun and full shade.
