Copper Moss

This copper moss is commonly found growing in small clumps On rotten logs.
It is modest-sized, growing up to 6 inches (15 cm) tall. It forms in small clumps and they spread and grow quickly, and is slightly frail; it struggles more than most during dry spells.
When mature, emerald spiral capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the late summer to release thousands of spores.
