Caramel Tree

This large tree grows up to 85 meters (278.9 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 341 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has a flexible, wonky trunk covered in paper-thin, wrinkled, light gray bark, and inside, the very hard wood is pine-coloured.

The branches are short stubs and are covered with copious amounts of crispy, huge, needle-like leaves with serrated edges. The leaves themselves are beige and caramel.

In late summer it forms medium-sized, vivid green, tough-shelled seeds.

The roots are shallow and widely spread, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with patches of undergrowth between them.
