Gray-green Moss

This gray-green moss is commonly found growing in small clumps In damp forests, and In rainy mountain ranges.
It is small, growing up to 3 inches (8 cm) tall. It forms in sparse patches and they are slow to spread and grow, and is very rigid.
When mature, emerald shield-shaped capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the mid-summer to release hundred of spores; it does not cause any allergic reactions.

The colour changes depends on whether the soil is acidic or alkaline.
Once on fire, it burns very quickly.
It is suitable for making baskets and the like
